BANBURY TOWN BADMINTON LEAGUE 7th March 2010
Feathers A continue to dominate the mixed division one after they extended their unbeaten record this season with 9-0 victories over both Three Bs and Cramic A. Now holding an almost unassailable advantage at the top, Stuart Quick, Ian Tustian, Del Roberts, Jamie Archer, Emma Cramond, Claire Tait, Sarah Lloyd and Hayley Hart remain hot favourites to retain their title. Feathers B strengthened their grip on second place when Jack Smith, Jamie Archer, Darrell Hawkins, Hayley Hart, Vicky Tait and Nicola Meadows combined to gain an impressive 7-2 victory over Brackley/Towcester. Cramic A collected valuable points in their bid to avoid relegation from the mixed division one when they secured a 5-4 success over Three Bs.
Deddington A increased their lead at the top of the mixed division two after Andy Munson, Andy Hawken, Charlie White, Nikki Keats, Jane Adams and Nikki Burwell combined to beat Feathers C by 9-0. Marlborough A remain in second place after Steve Watkin, Kyle Smith and Simon Hammans won all three mens rubbers, then took all three mixed rubbers, with Sylvia Holmes, Amanda Bailey and Linda Chadwick to secure a 6-3 victory over Wellesbourne.
Deddington B remain unbeaten at the top of the mixed division three, but they are being made to work hard for their success as recent 5-4 victories over both Middleton Cheney and Cramic C goes to show. Paul Smith, Barry OConnell, Mark Seward, Sue Noble, Caroline Tindale and Janine Beckwith once again proving to be an unbeatable combination. Marlborough B gained a 6-3 success over Cramic C thanks to success in all three mixed rubbers by Stuart Masters and Sarah Yates, Paul Winch and Catherine Bristow and Gary Whiteside with Jodie Austin.
An unbeaten display by Steve Watkin with Simon Hammans enabled Marlborough A to collect vital points from a 6-3 success over Deddington A in the mens division one, while Three Bs moved back to the top of the mens division two after an unbeaten display by Dave Sutliffe with Dave Green, set up a 6-3 victory over Brackley Town. Cramic remain just behind the leaders following a 7-2 success over Deddington C, which featured an unbeaten display by Luke Blades with Dave Blades.
